The most common reaction to Fraxel laser treatment is redness in the treated area. In some cases mild swelling may also occur. As an experienced dermatologist Dr Gidon offers comprehensive post operative care to ensure that your recovery is efficient and quick.
It is very important that you follow this advice after your Fraxel treatment. This will help maximize the effectiveness of your Fraxel treatment and reduce any chances of possible complications. Here are a few points that will make recovering from your Fraxel treatment a pleasant and speedy experience.
- Apply moisturizer to minimize bronzing and flaking
- Use a cool compress if needed
- Avoid sun exposure after your Fraxel treatment
- Apply sunscreens - SPF30 (or higher)
- Avoid any creams or ointments that might irritate the skin
- Avoid putting pressure on the treated area (for example, do not sleep on treated areas)
- Make up can be applied shortly after the treatment
