A Breakthrough in Skin Rejuvenation: FRAXEL™ Laser

This unique technology allows only fractions of the skin (about 20%) to be treated with each session with minimal downtime. The efficacy of Fraxel is superior to other lasers because it has the ability to treat cells in the dermis and leave the epidermis intact. Women can apply makeup immediately and men can continue to shave.

The FRAXEL™ laser offers effective treatment for the face, neck, chest, back, arms and hands. It is used for the treatment of wrinkles (around the eyes and entire face), acne scarring, brown age spots, sun damage and melasma. “The FRAXEL™ laser is the first and only laser that has been approved by the FDA for melasma which is very exciting for many patients” reports Dr. Gidon, “Melasma is a condition that has been very difficult to treat in the past”, she further explains. Dr. Gidon suggests an effective treatment plan of three to five treatments, about 4 weeks apart. Because of the fractional resurfacing technology, recovery time is minimal. Skin has a sunburned look for a day or two, then appears bronzed, and gently peels in 7 to 10 days. Many patients participate in “Fraxel Fridays” so they can return to work on Monday.
